Two free exhibitions displaying art work by adults with learning difficulties take place at Chichester Library.

Photographs and paintings will be displayed on the wall of the stairwell in the Library by groups from Starburst Arts, an integrated arts centre based at the Wrenford Centre, Chichester.

The first exhibition, starting on Monday April 26 for one week, feature photographs taken in and around the Wrenford Centre and in Chichester by the Film and Photography Group.

Another exhibition called ‘A Deluge of Colour’ will run from Tuesday May 4 for one week. The Tuesday morning workshop group from Starburst Arts will display abstract paintings and collages.

West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services, Peter Catchpole, said: “These artists are very talented and have shown their work at a number of other places, including Libraries and art galleries.

“Starburst Arts offers art of all kinds to adults who attend the Wrenford Centre, including 2D and 3D art, film, photography, dance and drama, and sensory art sessions.

“The Wrenford Centre does not offer work opportunities but encourages people to develop their independence by learning new skills.”

Brad Watson OBE, County Council Cabinet Member with responsibility for Libraries, said: “I am delighted the exhibition is taking place at Chichester Library, and I am sure it will be a great success.”
