Amy, from Kingsham School in Chichester, entered her design after taking a keen interest in her School's Gardening Club. Her entry was picked due to its colourful and cheerful design, and is located near the budgerigar aviary in Priory Park. Cllr Nick Thomas, Portfolio Holder for Sport and Culture, will be with Amy and her parents when they see the flowerbed for the first time, 'Children play a big role within our parks and open spaces and so it is fantastic that Amy has not only designed a flowerbed for Priory Park, but that this will also feature in our South East in Bloom entries. 'Last year Chichester won a Silver Gilt award and Priory Park was awarded Silver. With the increasing involvement of our residents in the development of our parks and open spaces, we are hoping for further success this year. 'We are hoping that Amy will get an opportunity to meet the South East in Bloom judges when they visit the City in July to explain her design and involvement in the park.' Amy's flowerbed will have a special plaque stating that she has designed the plot. The plan is to eventually give Amy the plaque to keep, when the flowerbed needs replacing, as recognition of her work. The plants used to create her flowerbed were kindly donated by local grower, Tawny Nurseries.
